No one wants to spend big bucks on a phone. There are too many other things we can spend our hard-earned money on. But sometimes we don’t have much choice and we need (or want) to get the latest device for ourselves or our significant others. Now, if you find yourself in such a situation and you’re looking for what to get with $100, here is an answer: Best used phones under $100! And hey, even if your budget is bigger than that, take a look at this article anyway because there might be something that will interest you below 100$.

If you buy a new smartphone it’ll probably cost you way more than $100 so I started by asking: how much does buying used phones cost? The average price for a used, good condition phone is around $170. Of course, prices may vary depending on the model, carrier and storage capacity but I think it’s safe to assume you could buy 8-10 devices for 100$ if you look carefully.

As always you’ll find the pros and cons of each phone listed below so that you can make an informed decision about which one to buy. Now here are the top 4 best smartphones under 100$. Enjoy!

1) Xiaomi Redmi 4X – Best Budget Phone Under 100$

I think it’s safe to say that Xiaomi phones are currently the best value for money. They offer amazing specs at affordable prices. The new Redmi 4X is not an exception and you get a phone with the great build quality, good camera, decent display and all-day battery life for less than 100$. What I like about this device is that it doesn’t have any serious flaws. It does everything well but nothing perfectly. There are faster phones out there but they also cost 2-3 times more so this would be your best choice if you want something fast which will give you solid performance without spending too much money. Out of all Redmi models available right now I think Redmi 4X is the best value for money because it’s the latest mid-range device that Xiaomi released.

  • PROS Great value for money
  • Good all-round performance
  • Decent battery life CONS No fingerprint scanner
  • The display could be brighter and has poor viewing angles (still good though) Price: ~$80 | Check price on Amazon Global Link – $79.99

2) Moto E4 Plus – Waterproof & Massive Battery Life!

If you are looking for a phone with long-lasting battery life, look no further. The Moto E4 Plus is IP67 certified which makes it dust resistant and waterproof up to 1 meter for 30 minutes. I don’t know about you but that sure sounds like an improvement over my current phone. Even if you don’t use it underwater this is a great feature to have because you don’t have to worry about your phone getting wet if, for example, you spill some juice over it.

Another important aspect of the Moto E4 Plus is its huge 5000mAh battery! You can expect up to 2 days of on-time with a single charge and that’s pretty amazing. There are other phones out there with bigger batteries but keep in mind they do cost more money. I used the Moto E4 Plus as my daily driver for over a month now and so far I’ve been very pleased with its performance. Keep in mind that the display resolution might not be 1080p, however, at 5 inches 720p resolution is still decent enough. If you want a phone with IP67 certification and big battery life and you don’t want to spend too much money, Moto E4 Plus is the best choice.

  • PROS Huge 5000mAh battery
  • IP67 certified – dust resistant & waterproof up to 1 meter for 30 minutes CONS No fingerprint scanner
  • The display could be brighter and has poor viewing angles (still good though) Price: ~$105 | Check price on Amazon Global Link – $149.99

3) Alcatel Pixi First – Tiny Phone With Dual Cameras!

Alcatel Pixi First is a tiny phone which packs a punch in terms of performance. This 5-inch sports a quad-core MediaTek MTK6580 chip running at 1.3GHz along with 1GB of RAM and Mali-400 GPU. This is not a high-end CPU but it runs fine for daily tasks like scrolling through social media, web browsing, or watching videos on YouTube. Pixi First also has 8GB of storage which can be expanded up to 32GB via MicroSD card which is pretty cool if you ask me because this offers some flexibility in terms of storage expansion options.

The phone sports an 8MP rear camera with auto-focus and LED flash while there’s also a 5MP front shooter for selfies, video calls or whatever else you might want to do with it. I had no problems using the cameras on this device as they’re good enough for my needs. One thing I like about Pixi First is that it has a good build quality and the metal frame around the phone gives it a premium look & feel.

If you like phones with a tiny form-factor this might be for you because Alcatel Pixi First measures ~5.7 x 2.72 x 0.32 inches and weighs 4 ounces which makes it pretty comfortable to use in one hand despite its tiny size! If you’re interested in buying this device just keep in mind that Pixi first doesn’t have a fingerprint scanner or NFC which means no mobile payments support, oh and also there’s a speaker located at the back of the phone so if you want to listen to music from your device while charging it probably won’t work out very well as sound will be muffled…

  • PROS Premium look & feel
  • Great value for money
  • Decent build quality CONS No fingerprint scanner or NFC support Price: ~$60 | Check price on Amazon – $59.99

4) Xiaomi Redmi 4X – Best Budget Chinese Phone!

Xiaomi is a pretty popular brand and most people who are shopping for affordable phones know it. There are many models out there but my personal favorite is the Redmi 4X because, in my opinion, this one offers the best “value-for-money ratio”. The phone sports a Snapdragon 435 processor which has 8 Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.4GHz, 2GB of RAM and Adreno 505 GPU which is pretty much all you need to run most of the apps available out there. I’ve been using the Redmi 4X as my daily driver for more than a month now and I haven’t had any issues with its performance. The device sports a 5-inch 720p display which isn’t perfect but definitely gets the job done, it’s one of the reasons why this phone costs only ~$150.

Redmi 4X has 16GB of storage and unlike many other phones on this list it comes with a dedicated slot for a MicroSD card so you can expand storage by 128GB if that’s not enough for you! What I like about this model is that it offers two SIM card slots so both your work and personal phone numbers can be used at the same time and you won’t need to carry two phones anymore.

The phone sports a 13MP rear camera with PDAF (phase detection autofocus) which is very fast and takes pretty detailed pictures, also if you like taking selfies Redmi 4X has a 5MP front shooter which does the job but probably isn’t as good as your iPhone or Android device Finally, Xiaomi Redmi 4X packs 3080mAh battery which should give you around 1-2 days of average usage on one charge, this depends on how many apps you’re using and their battery drainage rates so results might vary!

  • PROS Fast performance for $150 price tag
  • Good build quality and fingerprint scanner CONS Battery life could be better Price: ~$150 | Check price on Gearbest – $149.99
